Some may wonder why I chose to not capitalize "my" in "Winter of my Soul." In poetry, grammatical rules do not always apply and, in fact, are often completely broken in order to portray what the writer intends. In my title "Winter of my Soul" I purposely did not capitalize the word "my," and I even had to trick the publishing system in order to allow it.
Why would I purposely do that? "Winter of my Soul" was written in a dark and somber mood while trying to overcome many things. It isn't just about "my" soul, it is about everyone's soul and the darkness that can live there if we let it. I was not the important piece in this case and I wanted to minimize "my" importance in the title. Purchase "Winter of my Soul" by using the button below.

My new book "Gentle Spring," the second poetry and photo collection in a series of 4, is now available.
You can order it now by clicking the button below or visiting my spotlight at Lulu: http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/robinlangston or Ok folks, the spring season is in full swing. I've had the chance to take many pictures already, and I have been writing, rewriting, selecting, editing, and proofreading many poems since late last year. What does that mean for you? It means that my new book, "Gentle Spring: Poetry & Photo Collection #2" will be released very soon! I am actually in the final stages of editing right now. Once I finish editing and proofreading, I will order a proof-print, and if it all looks good, I will hit the button!
Stay tuned! Some might question why I would remove the comments about abuse from my author bio and blog. The answer is simple for me and not all will agree. I am a survivor, I am not a victim. I am over it, I have worked through it, I no longer find the monster under my bed or in my head, and I have forgiven and let go. I was a survivor before, and the only reason I commented on it in my author bio and blog was to try to explain the dark nature that exists in some of my poetry and in my novel. Now, I no longer find the need to explain it. I am who I am, and my writing is what it is. What happened is in the past, and I have moved on. I will live my life as I feel the need to do, and others can live their life as they feel they need to. No one has to agree with me, nor do they have to believe as I believe. Having it on my page opened the door to many things from others that I simply do not need in my life.
I think that's great to have support groups, and I absolutely believe that more people need to speak up. However, I am not a counselor. I encourage anyone who is going through it or who needs help to please seek that help from qualified professionals and groups that are designed for it. (See below if you aren't sure where to look for help.) I will speak out when I believe it will help someone, and I will help others in need in my own ways. May you find your way through the darkness, Sincerely, Robin Langston Need help and not sure where to look?
